Barcelona saw their title hopes take a massive blow yesterday as they failed to win against Celta Vigo.

The Blaugrana‘s Balaidos woes continued as they drew 2-2 yesterday against a rejuvenated Vigo side.

Here are the winners and losers from the result.

Winner – Luis Suarez

The Uruguayan international scored twice yesterday, his first two goals since the restart.

It was a performance Suarez needed in front of goal as he has struggled for form since recovering from injury.

Both goals came from Leo Messi assists and both put the away side in front, but neither were enough to secure all three points.

Loser – Barcelona

Quique Setien’s men will feel extremely disappointed after the draw at Celta yesterday. The result means that they go top by a point but Real Madrid have a game in hand.

Barcelona will need to win all their remaining games if they hope to mount any kind challenge for La Liga this season.

Winner – Real Madrid

Los Blancos are perhaps the biggest winners from this Barcelona result. They arrive in Barcelona later today to take on Espanyol and a win would see them establish a two-point lead at the top of the log with six games to go.

Zinedine Zidane will be hoping to deliver another La Liga title to the Santiago Bernabeu at the expense of their eternal rivals.

Loser – Marc Andre Ter Stegen

After keeping four consecutive clean sheets since the restart, Barcelona’s defense was finally breached yesterday.

Ter Stegen will perhaps feel the hardest done by, as he looked set to mount a late charge for the golden glove.

Thibaut Courtois and Jan Oblak currently lead the way. Both Madrid stoppers have kept 14 clean sheets so far this season. Ter Stegen has kept 12.

In a relegation battle, every point counts, and this was a precious point for Celta. The result means they’re now 8 points above the drop zone and are on course to avoid relegation.

Celta have looked a rejuvenated side since the restart and will hope this form translates into next season as they look to secure one of the European places.
